Need help selecting driving lights
Need help selecting driving lights
I have a 2002 Civic EX sedan. I am not sure if driving lights were even offered from the factory when new. Anyways, the visibility at night sucks especially in the rain. Main lenses are clear. So, I thought installing some driving lights would help. Anyone have any suggestions and/or can speak to the installation process ?

As time goes on the brightness of bulbs fades, I suspect if you simply replace the bulbs with silver stars you'll be satisfied with the improved visibility.
If its still to dark, search on ebay for a set of oem style foglights and install those.

Re: Need help selecting driving lights
if you are serious, get some philips XP (or even XV if you have $$) bulbs from www.powerbulbs.com in H4 size which will help alot with the lo beams. you could even use the catz zeta halogen ballasts to boost the output of any bulb in the oem housings. it bumps up the input voltage to 14.5-15v instead of the factory 13.5v which greatly increases the brightness. those are $50 a pair on ebay and require a simple splice hookup to the wiring. as for driving lights, the best are the hella DE xenon (HID) lamps. www.rallylights.com it will turn night into day but cannot be used around other cars. it spreads light everywhere. if those are too expensive, you can look at some vision-x solstice solo 10w LED driving lights. if you want some AUX lights which can be used in addition to the lo beams for added coverage without blinding traffic, check the sylvania X1010 HID aux/driving lights. you can convert them into driving lights by removing the shield over the bulb, or leave it on if you use them in traffic. www.suvlights.com still carries those. or you could just put HID projectors into the factory headlamps. the morimoto mini H1 projectors from theretrofitsource.com simply install into the existing H4 bulb hole without any modification (except opening up the headlamps to install them the first time). check www.hidplanet.com forums for more details.
