A friend of mine bought one of those cheap HID kits from eBay. He said that its some kind of "super slim" model. He wants me to install it for him, but I thought Id ask and see if any of you know anything about these kits first?

well assuming he got the right size bulb, should be fairly easy. except youre gonna need a new relay harness. no way you can just hook those ballast to stock wiring. and theres gonna be glare all over if these are going in stock reflector housings.
