Whoot! ok u guys know my luck with mods.. but n e wayz, this one went really well and i love it.
Output = Better than stock, but not HID duh!
Style = I love the look of them
Install = Really simple, like i said, i had no problems, and did it in less than 20min
Fitment = Was a perfect fit, no probs
Overall = I love them, the look is cool, the cutoff was cool, the blue hue is great, all i have to do is align them now, thats where i ask whats the alignment supposed to look like.
ok here are my before pictures...

and here is Afterwards

Alrighty there u have it guys... so imo TYC's = 9/10

that alignment actually looks pretty good from what I can tell. I am not an expert on headlight adjustments but i would accept that if it were my car.

Re: TYC Projector Install/Review *56k warn*
sorry to jack ur thread a little by one of my nokya bulbs just went out last night. that was my poor mans alternative to HIDs and it just blew out. my high beams worked but low beams only the passenger side would turn on. i decided to drive around anyway and like 10 mins later it just turned back on... lol. i duno wat that means. ....anyway with these TYCs do they use the same bulb size as oem? does all the wiring just plug up and fit right?

Re: TYC Projector Install/Review *56k warn*
The TYC's use a H1 bulb (edit:
) ,when i buy my silverstars i'll show ya. Also they bulbs that come with it are all slyvania, like each bulb had a good output, and i was surprised that they didnt just come with standard phillips or seomthing.
But yeah the only bulb that is the same is that little bulb in the small circle on your headlights. In my pics its the green light. But yeah the things that hold the bulb in, just de-attach and then plug right into the one that come with the TYC's. As for wiring, plug in fit perfectly, no probs here.
edit#2 : u might wanna check your wiring back there just to make sure ur light doesn't go out again. cause yea in 10min, a cop could have pulled ya over :/

I have tycs and the output sucks out of the box... much worse than stock. It hasnt been a problem really, but lately its been driving me crazy, I'm going to have to adjust them... just so lazy after they are already purchased and installed and get complements on them. Blahhh. LT- you buy yours used of what?

lol^^ yea man...i duno i personally like the nokyas bulbs. ive had silverstars before and i duno man they just dont compare to these nokyas. ive always heard good things about nokya bulbs and my friend had them on his civic for about a good 2 years until he got his honda fit and whatd u know? he went n got some for those. i love the blue hue they give out and the illumination on the road is beautiful..perfect for me. this was just sumthing weird..i will check the wiring though.

Re: TYC Projector Install/Review *56k warn*
first, you got lucky and have the older model tycs. the newer ones i got have the projector totally out of focus and pure yellow cutoff, no blue, and the black housing is just painted chrome which you can see in some places.
the aim is off, you need to lower the passenger side to make it even with each other. ill post my old pic later, but you want the top line of each cutoff to be at same level. other than that they look good!
oh one more thing, if you use anything but clear bulbs, they will blow out like crazy. too much heat.

Good stuff Travis. I love my projectors, although I've been thinking about going to blacked out OEMs. Question for you. I bought my Civic with the projectors already installed (no stockers). Will I need to source new bulbs and harness stuff to go back to stock?

Ok as for the aim, there were these long screws if i remember correctly like... were these the alignment screws??
As for the bulbs, so Sylvania Silverstars wont work, i think they are ever so slightly tinted blue. :/ are the Phillips +50 clear?

Re: TYC Projector Install/Review *56k warn*
hey yea stick with the osram silverstar +50 clear bulbs. those were what i used. the vision plus from philips actually are 1/2 coated and my brother has em in his rsx but one side is whiter cause the coating faded differently or something. coating is evil! lol.
oh and heres how the cutoff should be. just play with those adjustment screw/bolt things. well these are hids but the shape is the same

Re: TYC Projector Install/Review *56k warn*
H1 and H3 are very similar and can be swapped by accident if not careful. you're right that H3 has a cord, but both the High and Low beams on TYCs use H1's. at least mine did. it was stamped on the back of the housing.

those cords unplug from an h1, leaving just the bulb. h3 has an integrated cord which cant be removed. tyc uses h1.

Re: TYC Projector Install/Review *56k warn*
um, you need to hook up wires to the bulb. one goes to the actual bulb, the other is plugged to the inner housing as a ground which touches the bulb ground. they are just quick disconnect clamps. the h3 has the wire actually welded inside the bulb socket.
