Valeo H7 Halogen w/ hid

I am possibly doing another retrofit, however want to keep this one a little cheaper than the previous one. I keep seeing people talking about using valeo h7 halogens with hid and having pretty good success. Has anyone used them and possibly have some output pics? I realize they arent going to look as good as going with tl, s2k, etc, but for over $100 less, im open to ideas.
