valeo->bosch?

i currently have valeo projectors retrofited into 04-05 projector ebay headlights and was wonder if i were to put a bosch projectors from hidplanet on, would it be a direct swap? not quite sure wat the retrofiter did when installing the valeos but im pretty sure its almost the same as wat gearbox did. also if it is possible is it also possible to use my current harness, ballast, and bulbs on these? hidplanet is having a sale for these projectors and i think i might get em if this is all possible.

also wat would i see different between the two? i really dont like the output of the valeos. thx

i am sure that wont be a direct swap like u can do with valeo...u hve to cut some stuff to fit in their.....bosch projector are bigger then valeo.....

u do have to make new harness for your high beam ...cuz they are bixenon
(one more relay just like your lowbeam)..
bulb and ballast are fine u dont hve buy new......

just want to make sure that u hve Valeo d2s projector..

hahah damn...i dont think bosch's are bixenon b.c it is listed under the single xenon projectors list on hidplanet: http://www.hidplanet.com/package.html. if thats the case im guessin i wont need to make a new harness for the high beams. would i still need a another relay even if thats the case? i do have 2 relays not quite sure wat they are for but i can always snap some pics for u guys.

yes i believe i have valeo d2s projectors but i think they are h7 tho b.c it does have that h7-d2s metal adapter on the bulb and im pretty sure that if it was d2s valeos it wouldnt need that adapter or plate.

oh ok u buying single xenon then harness will stay same.......but not sure if that projectors gone fit in your housing.....sure that they will fit in oem housing but not in aftermarket projector housing...

if u have two relays on singel xenon then maybe they are one for each ballast....
so if u dont have that metal adapter on the bulb then its D2S projectors......

oh okay cool. so i guess the only real obstacle would be if the projectors will fit. imma ask my retrofiter and see if he had done any cutting around the opening where the projectors go in. anything else i should b asking?

well usually its permanent like alot of people put epoxy and other sealer stuff so you might have a hard time taking them off.

Bosch and Valeo single xenons do not have the same mounting points so it will not be an easy install.

I followed dirty's DIY for Valeos into TYCs but with Boschs and trust me its the projectors are different.

Valeos are better than Boschs, seeing as how Boschs are regarded at the choice projector for novices.

dude fresnel lens doesnt reduce light output, its just a design. hid bulb is the same, and the only thing thats different is the color.

my 05 dot doesnt have limiter either. and the only thing i see different with ece is more slope on the cutoff. and dot has ghosting light above cutoff to light up road signs. the bulb determines brightness not lens. now certain lens and reflector types may "appear" brighter due to a number of factors, however the acual lumen measurement remains the same.
