Rebased HID 9006 bulbs for 04-05 vics
I was wondering if anybody here is using a rebased 9006 HID bulb on their 04-05 vic. If so could you post some pics. I've seen some pics of 04-05 vics with just an ordinary hid conversion kit, and the glare is not that bad when compared to 01-03 vics with stock headlights. I want to know if a rebased 9006 D2R bulb would give a better output, and less glare since D2R bulbs are for non-projector style headlights.
Anybody have any pics or any comments??
Please don't tell me to retro-fit cause I already know I can do that, and I have my reasons for not wanting to retro fit my stock headlights.
So I want an HID kit using D2R bulbs, and I know its possible because I've seen the adapters for it.

Most 9006 HID bulbs are made by cheap Asian companies who don't know what they are doing.
Most D2S(R) bulbs are made by highly reputable companies who also provide products for use by highly reputable automobile companies.
Just based on that I would say a rebased kit would be better since you are getting the better quality bulb.
Glare would be another topic though, since all HIDs in non-OEM housing is going to produce glare.

www.hidexpert.com has rebased phillips or osram d2s/d2r bulbs...get d2s...the beam on the 04-05s work best with d2s rebased...my mcchulloch kit has a d2s style bulb with no paint and the glare is minimal...01-03s have horrible glare compared to 04-05s
How do you know they're "rebased". I've seen that term thrown around on several forums, including this one.

rebased means the housing has been changed so that the hid bulb fits in the headlight just like a regular halogen bulb. if the kit is good, it can position the bulb very close to a spot where the hid will act like halogen in terms of beam pattern. and generally, d2s is brighter than d2r, or at least appears that way to people who had both.

isnt that what i said? oh i guess i shouldve said "bulb" housing. the part where the hid bulb installs which then goes to the headlight as one piece.

I don't plan to get projectors.
Anybody have any pics of a D2R or D2S light output in a 04-05 civic (without a retrofit of course)??
