Blacking 01-03 Headlights?

Yes, I know how to search, check my join date, and I've looked at the DIY tab, but I can't find it. I followed the instructions on getting them apart and the bumper off with http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=155290
but I need to see part of the chrome was painted and what was left chrome. Some if it serves as a reflective piece for the parking and amber lights and I'm thinking I should not paint that. I've also looked at the 04-05 thread, but my chrome piece is different. http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=269401

Sorry to do this, but my bumper is off and I need some help today. Thanks guys, BUMP.

I didn't end up having much choice. The biggest issue was that the headlight had moisture damage, so when I taped the chrome, it came off with it. I ended up just painting the whole piece. It doesn't look great, but it's better than a fogged out factory light. Thanks for the help guys.

all headlights do that. the chrome is very weak, you gotta use postit notes. tape will bring it right off.

No, the light that did not have moisture damage didn't remove the chrome when I taped it, only the one that had it. I used the Blue 3M Painter's Tape "For Delicate Surfaces". They still look okay though.
