um if you have stock headlights 01-03 they take a clear bulb. the amber lens is enough. but if you have clear then ya you need amber. i am wanting one too. just stay away from leds theyre not bright enough. Im searching for a natural amber glass bulb. the ones with coating always flake off especially using it as drl (signal always on).

yeah i'm staying away from LED ones, but i was wondering. since i have cleared headlights and getting amber turn signal bulbs. do i need an orange reflector on the side to make it legal. or is having an amber bulbs enough? if not i was thinking of getting orange reflective tape and put it on the side of my bumper. BTW i live in IL not sure bout the laws here.

pic #9. it cost me less than $10 at my local dealer. I think OEM is better than autozone

oh ok i know where you guys are... sorry for thread jacking.... there are couple of other guys on this forum that are over there too...maybe we can all meet up sometime when i get back.. we'll see i guess....

oh Nyte, it should just be fine with the amber light... i used to live in IL and i dont think you'll have any problems with just the amber bulb...but if you really must know just as a local cop and they should be able to let you know...

you need the reflector but most cops wont ever notice or care. turn signal must be orange, but parking light can be white or orange.

7440 is single filament. you can use it if installed properly, but it will only work as a signal and not come on with parking lights. 7443 is a dual filament, 21w signal and 5w parking light. so you should really get the 7443 unless you just want to have a signal and use the other spot for the park light.

waiitt, i just got the SI Turn signal bulb. but the part guy at honda said he doesnt know if its a 7440 or a 7443 does anyone know? and if its a 7440 does that mean you dont see the amber light until you turn on the signal? or can you see it when you turn the headlights fully on?

7440 is the si bulb. it has one bright filament, so it would only work when the signal is used, assuming you install it the right direction.

what i did when i had my clear signal on my prelude was wrap it with that yellow 3m tape they sell at walmart for busted turn signal. even though the tape is yellow it blinks amber especially if you wrap it a couple of times
