HID wiring harness into TYC Question
Ok so I need some help on wiring.
The civic come with an H4 connector (meaning from the car to the lights)... Now my TYC's have an H4 connector.
I bought H1 HID's ... now I'm wondering does the wiring harness to this HID kit fit directly in without any modifications ?
Do I have to make any changes to the wiring, or should it just fit straight in ? They are the McCullough kit btw, incase that helps.
Any ideas ?
I believe I will still need to disable my daytime running lights (which is no problem - I'll just remove the fuse)

i guess you can go from the h4 to the tyc then have the tyc connect to the h1 from the hids.
Its best to make a harness that draws power directly from the battery and use the h4 as a trigger to turn them off and on.
HID ballasts take significantly larger amounts of amp during the first seven seonds of operation then a standard halogen. Over time it can fry your stock h4 harness.

not only that, but the H1 harness on the tyc connects directly to the bulb. there is no connector to plug in your H1 hid. also those wires are very tiny. i'm planning to upgrade them in the future. should've done that before installing but oh well.

Ok there is a harness that comes with the HID's tho.
From what I understand the HID bulb wires fit into the ballast, the ballast goes to the power (with relays and fuse),
then the cars connector gets connected to the ballast somehow - to trigger the lights to go on and off etc ...
But this is the fuzzy part ... how does the high beam connector part get plugged in, along the line ?

Gear ... I like the pic, and yah I know which thin wires your talking about
How about how does the Stock Harness fit into the HID wiring kit
And then where does the TYC H4, fit into the HID wiring kit (so that I dont lose my highbeams)
Can you draw a pic for me

stock harness doesn't fit. you can't use it, you need to make your own and splice it to the hid kit. if youre too lazy to make it, they can be bought here. I have the H4 universal kit that comes with relays and upgraded wire and harness (www.suvlights.com). the stock harness will melt.
The hi beams i have no idea because the hid kit is independent. so however the hi beam will be wired, it wont be through the hid kit. I guess you can connect it to the factory harness but you need to find out which wire in the stock harness is for the hi beam and then connect them.

hmm wow, ok I'm totally confused now
They say this system is plug and play ... and the HID kit comes with a wiring harness.
I still have to do some splicing of my honda OEM wiring ? to make it fit ?

oh okay in that case you just won't use the tyc plug and wires. just pull it all out. but you say you have an H1 kit, so its not plug and play (because your car has H4 stock). the plugs wont fit. so you need to splice into the stock wires instead of plugging it in. then put the bulb in the tyc. you gotta just tap the hi beam wire from the tyc to the stock harness near the plug.

all these wiring diagrams people make on here and post i love, it reminds me of school lol, but the way gearboxes diagram is setup is how my h1 hids are wired. Your HID should come with installation directions also.
