Hids in H4 housing(OEM) or H1 tyc's?
Cant decide on whether to use my tyc's h1 housing or get some oem h4 hids. I dont like the tyc look anymore and am wanting to get some jdm headlights and use an h4 kit. I am mainly worried about the light output between oem and tyc. Which do you recommend? And where can i get a good hid kit at?

i'd usually respond with the "don't get an HID kit" response, but if you must, the H4 with a casper shield won't glare as bad as the H1 kit in TYC's. i've thought of going this route because of the blacked out oem look....sexxxxxxxxy

^ ya, thats the main reason i am looking at oem housings. Do the jdm oem's from robearracing have the casper shield? I would assume they do. I dont want glare and plus the tycs look like shiot IMO. thanks for your help

i'm not sure if the jdm ones came with HID...theres places where shields are sold...or you can make your own. www.hidplanet.com and i think there was another thread here where they were selling kind of generic looking kits...but they had shields as well...
here we are. http://hidexpert.com/ ... $108...kinda pricey to me, but i've never bought any or shopped for them. ask robear if they come with it...might save you the hassle.

If you are worried about output, do retro fit.
Robearracing does not sell jdm headlights, they are just seling black housing headlights. No, it doesn't have casper shield.
Authethic JDM Headlights are cleared and has flare on the driver side, so it would blind people on other side of the road.

i did a search on the hidexpert.com and it says that 01 civics have a 9003 bulb size? I thought it was h4? i am confused now. Would those with the glare shield work good?

i used to have the TYCs...the output was crap compared to OEM...i only kept them for 6-7 months
i went back to OEM and bought the Xtec HID kit (5000K) and ive been happy ever since
