Easier, cheaper way to change gauges color.
Alright guys well I was tired of trying to mess with LEDs to put in the gauges like gearbox and diskreet did. Not that theres are awsome but I wanted to find an easier way. I found some red incandescent bulbs, just like the stock clear ones except red. I think they were $.99 each.
Here are the results............not the best pics, but you get the idea

idk man, it doesn't look that great. You cleared the back already it seems cause the light is uneven. And those bulbs will fade in a few weeks... when I did one for another member using the stock bulbs, I used 2x layers of red taillight tape and put a piece of paper over the hot spots to even out the light. The pics dont do justice but to me it looks pure red like the evo gauges and very very bright. imo you should redo it...

yea open it back up and redo it cause i guarantee the bulbs will fade. my blue ones did but you prolly didn't even see those pics they lasted so little. Take it apart, put stock bulbs back. now take off the gauge face and get some taillight repair tape in red. now the hardest part will be cutting small pieces and positioning it inbetween the tick marks so you don't have areas without tape. And when you put the second layer on, you don't want overlap cause it will show through the gauge at night. Then the color part is done. to even out the brightness, you need to experiment with placing paper strips where the light is brightest to make it dimmer like the rest. It takes time and needs to be done at night. I was able to hook it up and turn it on with it apart so i could just try different amounts of paper. just plug in the blue connector if you do. you want dash light to work but not power (do not plug in green connector with the cluster apart). Or you can run wires from a bulb in the back to the battery with the hood open and do it that way. or even if you have a battery indoors...

cool i got 3 clusters bid on ebay lol. two are dx tho for special projects. Overlap I mean dont cross over a third time like make sure all the pieces match up against each other. you dont want any parts where there are three layers. i should've taken pics of what it looked like.
