headlights on

05 sedan.

hey, when im driving with my headlights off (during the day) and i want to flash my highbeams at someone, my HIDs also come on.

is there a way to make it so only my highbeams come on?

and when someone press the panic button on my remote, the HIDs flash, is there a way to stop this?

thanks

wow thats really bad for the hids to flash. how does that even happen? maybe if you have daytime running lights and its wired in somehow, but panic should only flash the parking lights, and turning on hi beam should only turn on hi beam and turn off lo beam. something isn't wired right.

since he's in canada, i'm guessing the 9006 is trigger when his car is turned on for DRL. Easiest way is to change the trigger on your harness from your 9006 plug to a switch, like the fog light one or just a generic switch.

he's in canada. In canada, all new cars sold are required to have drl. So for him he has drl.

Nah I think thats normal. On my mom's camry, both low and high beam comes on when flashing people, and low beam flashes when the alarm goes off.

Don't flash your highbeams. Last time I did that, I blew a bulb. I care more about my bulbs than other people's business now. HAHA.

along the same lines but just the opposite i live in the middle of no where, where there are as many deer on the roads as other cars. I was wondering how to set up my headlights so that both my high and low beams come on when I turn my highbeams on. I have aftermarket ebay projectors(please don't flame)

hmm maybe. i always thought its supposed to just do hi beam. thats what the switch says. oh but is he talking about flashing someone during the day? with all lights off, or at night with the low beam on. i think that makes a difference.

to the other guy who wants both hi beam and low beam on, i'll get back to you tonight when i get it working on mine. I'm just gonna play with wires but i think its gonna involve some rewiring.

it doesnt matter if the lights are on or off.... they both are on, but only the high beam flashes not the low beam

01-03 civic projector will only have high beams on because the original H4 single housing is designed to have the low beam turn off when high beam comes on.

If both high and low beam are not supposed to be on when you flash from the factory(like 9003 bulbs) then wire a separate harness for the high beam, and remember to push the stick instead of pulling the stick when flashing (easiest way).

Otherwise if both high and low beam come on by default, then let me think about it.

Don't the mechanics do state inspection by turning on the headlight using headlight switch instead of searching for whatever that turns on the headlight?

thought mechanics only inspect your car if your smogging it or registering it from another state.

lol...wouldn't you fail either way if you have hids, since hids are illegal unless they come from the factory.

Most states only check whether you have headlight on when you turn the headlight on.....Except in some states they check the lens for whether it matches the bulb....Or in some rare case the lens doesn't state what bulb to use in the housing (like the one I have now) then I have no idea...
