Now I didnt go through and read all other threads about this subject but you guys do know that fog lights dont work with high beams for a reason right? ILLEGAL. If you care about that, I personally wouldn't, but if you would happen to pass a cop with high beams on and fog lights they may come after ya. Also come inspection time they may bit** about it.

nope NOT illegal. at least not with 01-03 where combined brights and fog lights still constitute 4 lights total and is thus legal. I have my oem fogs modded to work whenever the ignition is active, regardless of the headlight/parking light position. Now it is illegal if you have an 04-05 civic which uses a separate housing for brights. That exceeds the 4 light limit.

They shouldnt work with High beams or parking lights. The purpose of fog lights are to keep the light lower to the ground so you can see when driving threw fog, not so you can turn on your high beams and see a wall of fog. Plus i know i hate it when im driving and see some jack A$$ with his high beams on and fog lights so i can see the road and blind me. Plus i know in some states its illegal to do that, maybe not illonois. Just a little FYI.
Hi,
It does sound like something in the hi-beam connection reversed the relay control, that is, somewhere in the wiring you actaully opens the relay when turn on high beam.
( I assume you know about the relay. When you energize the coil, induce field would attract the throw and cause the electrical path to close. Thus, if you energize it reversed, it would make it open instead.)
thanks

i wired mine to the auxiliry lights and they come on with parking lights, highs, low, locking and unlocking the door(flash).
i like them better that way and much easier than useing the harness.
oh and i have passed many cops and not one has said a thing.

okay the only reason i did mine is so i can drive with fogs and parking lights on a little before dark. at night i don't use fogs (or fars) at all because that IS illegal. not many people know this tho.
