'Blued'-out Tails

I bought those "black chrome" tail lights with the big circles off ebay a while back. I was very disapointed when they almost looked chrome. Recently I decided to do a little custom work. Basically, i did the Headlight black out DIY with my tails. Threw 'em in the oven, removed the clear covers, got out all the sealant. Masked, sanded, primed, base coated, and clear coated. I've still got to seal them back up, which i'm kinda worried about doing. But i'll let you guys know how it goes.

I only posted this cause i hadnt seen it done before (even though it probably has).
I'll get better pictures tomorrow when there's more light.

Alright.....New stuff.

Well..... got the clear part put back on, and i used a titty bit too much silicone, and a little squeezed out inside the tail light, it's not bad, but it could be better. i'll get more pics tomorrow.

I did the same thing as the instructions for the DIY blacked out headlights. Threw them in the oven. But they did melt and bend a little out of shape, but it wasnt anything serious. And you have to be super carefull about taking the clear part off, especially at the narrow point, as i broke part of mine.

some tails won't open up you have to carefully use a dremel to cut em open and then resilicone them.
