TYCisnt going to be making projector headlights for the 04-05s....... but those arent made by TYC....... and yes. this is like the 5th thread on the new projector headlights
I wonder if they make projectors that would be able to accomodate HIDs for our Civics? I know that our stock halogen runs on H4. I just converted to HID and the H4 HID bulb is slightly longer than halogen - this won't fit in most projectors. Any of you guys know which type of projectors have a deep enough space for HID??

what the funk? read up on HIDs at hidplanet.com/forums
but basically, if you want to put a HID KIT into your car, then the manufacturer of the KIT will have the arc of the HID capsule be as close to where the halogen filament sits in relation to the halogen bulb. H4 bulbs will NOT fit into a projector headlight. most of the aftermarket headlights are H1 bulbs and these are very small bulbs. buy a kit and you should be fine (for the short term). do a retrofit and you'll be set.

actually i think most aftermarket headlight uses h3 bulbs for low beam and h1 for high beam. but either way, they are very small bulbs that fit into projector housing.

From what I understand , you can put HID in the TYCs as long as they are H1. But these will not be as bright as uding H4 HIDs in the stock housing...am I right guys? One question on the TYCs, is the third socket for the turn signal bulb?

TYCs have 4 sockets. 2x H1, 1x parking light, 1x turn signal.
TYCs can hold a H1 HID capsule, but the light output will be comparable to maybe a flashlight on crack. Retrofit or bust.
H4 with HID will be bright (only because it's a very large reflector). if you do a retrofit, you will have better light than just with a kit.

you need quite a bit of stuff, projectors, ballast, ignitors, bulbs, extra stuff necessary to make them all fit...

^wow. ouch. getting all up on the OGs back.
it'll still not be as bright as a HID retrofit. halogen inside the craptacular TYC projectors will still be halogens inside a craptacular projector.
