two sided tape or self tapping screws? isnt there risk involved in using two sided tape?
a) easier to steal....someone can easily break ur windows, pop the trunk and remove ur ballast and or bulb

b) in an accident it can potentially beomce unseated and crash into to something in the engine bay

on the plus side its easier to install and can be removed if u change cars or ur lease is up.....

so whats the best way to mount the ballasts in that area?

Even they said its waterproof, I will not put it in a risky place playing with water, mine put the ballast INSIDE the bar behind the bumper and stuck it with doubleside tape. Hope can give you some ideas..

put on the inner bumper like ghost said under the cover...less chance of getting wet too...or u can put them in plastic bags and mount them under ur headlights but i have to say the inner bumper on the backside would be safe from water but dunno about car accidents...ill prolly seal mine up and put them under the fenders as well

wraowng. most ballasts are NOT water proof. They are just placed in a location that receives little to no precipitation. If you want to submerge a Hella/Philips LVQ-212 ballast into a tank of water and see what happens, well, I sincerely hope you wear a rubber suit.
