where did u mount ur ballasts/ignitors? im trying to figure out where.. i want em to be seen under hood tho.... fenders seem like a damp place especially since mine have holes in em from tire rubbin riley |
i forgot his name, but he put them on the front where the foam piece is behind the bumper, that metal support beam thingamajig. ok i apologize i just woke up. |
2 Attachment(s) here's where i put mine.. in the engine bay... driver's side http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/at...id=49886&stc=1 passenger's side http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/at...id=49887&stc=1 |
two sided tape or self tapping screws? isnt there risk involved in using two sided tape? a) easier to steal....someone can easily break ur windows, pop the trunk and remove ur ballast and or bulb b) in an accident it can potentially beomce unseated and crash into to something in the engine bay on the plus side its easier to install and can be removed if u change cars or ur lease is up..... so whats the best way to mount the ballasts in that area? |
i got mine stuck on there with 3m double sided foam tape.. they've held up for a while.. you can actually see the double sided tape in the first pic... |

ouch. i sealed up my ballast where the plugs are with silicone. mine are above the fenders though. i heard xtec ballasts are waterproof..and mine have held up on the fender as well. |
Even they said its waterproof, I will not put it in a risky place playing with water, mine put the ballast INSIDE the bar behind the bumper and stuck it with doubleside tape. Hope can give you some ideas.. |

i wouldn't put it by my fenders cuz I like to wash my engine bay and that place always gets dirty and wet....sooo not going to put them there... |

put on the inner bumper like ghost said under the cover...less chance of getting wet too...or u can put them in plastic bags and mount them under ur headlights but i have to say the inner bumper on the backside would be safe from water but dunno about car accidents...ill prolly seal mine up and put them under the fenders as well |
