the EASY way to install 6x9 speakers
This originally came to me when i had my 94 pontiac grand am gt coupe that also had 6x9 in the rear deck. The setup was the same as the civic, the screws holding the speakers in were facing down and were visible. So how did i remove it so easily?
1)Take a drill (cordless recommended) and take off the philips head attachment or drill bit whatever you have in there.
2)Open up the chuck (open the mouth that grips onto bits/philip bits) and place the wide hole on the bottom of the screw.
3)Now tighten the chuch (the hold that grips the bit) until its nice and snug with the bottom of the screw.
4)Now put the drill in foward or was it reverse? (clockwise) and squeeze the trigger slowly....the screw should reverse vertically! Repeat for all four screws and your speaker should come out!
now when your done with placing the new speakers into place just turn the screws upside down the end is facing up so it is easier to install/remove next time!
Enjoy! Let me know if this works for you!

clever
I wounder if that will work on the civic though
plus with aftermarket speakers you might have to do the truck shock DIY due to the speaker magnet and the trunk spring hitting each other.
