Trunk light wiring help.

Im going to wire a glow wire type thing in my trunk to light up at the same time as the trunk light. The way i see it i have to options for power,
1. off the sub leads, strait off the battery
2. off the trunk light.

The question is if i wire it to the trunk light does it have enough juice to power both the original light and the neon? And what voltage is the trunk light? I need 12 volt for the neon.

Or should i wire it to the sub leads, the problem is how do i get it to turn on and off with the trunk light?

ty in advance.

just tap the power wire going into the trunk light so it turns on when the trunk is opened. i believe it's a 12v 5w supply. my friend set up his subs to have a neon that turns on when the trunk is opened. he simply just cut the trunk light and powered the neons with it instead.
