HIDs w/projectors

will an HID kit work with TYC projectors and does anyone know if the light output will be worse with them? Also, what make of HID kit does everyone prefer? thanxs for the help.

An HID kit in TYCs will be fine but, you will have to enlarge the bulb opening in the back to allow the hid bulb to fit. The light output will be fine since you are using TYCs.

btw, I sell HID Kits,

I am planning on buying the 5000k Xtec kit from Impulse. But how much modification is required to get them to fit in to TYCs? How do you enlarge the opening? I was under the influence it was plug and play...

it is plug and play after you hack away some of the bulb holder on the tyc projectors.

honestly, the light output is not good.TYC rojectors dont work well with HID kits, you gonna have plenty dark spots etc. check out hidforum.com fYI.
you can only swap lenses from the TYC projectors into the real xenon projectors such as: audi 4-6 or tt, bmw. That will work great.

exactly, and the sonar halo projectors are alot worse. Almost no light on the ground and tons of glare

Light output is decent, speaking from a halogen term, but its no where gunna be near the amount of light that you COULD have if you put a true xenon projector in there.Typically the ones that fit best in there are the Valeo's.

All In all, YES they WILL work with Tyc's. JUST not as great as oem. But what else would you expect.
