Gauge Cluster conversion!
Has anyone ever heard of doing a gauge cluster conversion on our cars? I'm thinking about converting my 02 gauges to 04 gauges but the layout is totally different. I called a dealership and they said they werent sure if it would hook up right! Has anyone successfully performed this conversion or one similar to it?

mileage displayed will be whatever the gauge cluster has. Our original mileage is stored in the ecu, but miles are stored separately in the cluster. For example, I have 30k miles on my stock cluster. If I swap in a different one from the junkyard that has 20k miles, it will display 20k miles once installed in my car. Get it?

I said IF lol. Actually was able to keep the old circuitboard and just swap parts from the other cluster. But technically you could buy a brand new one and start over at 0 miles. The ecu is supposed to keep track of real mileage however.

well i was going to do a color change for my stock gauges and somehow even though i was super careful, my fuel neddle is fu****! Well there goes 327 dollars! But now i have my new cluster and my mileage says zero! I read the posts above but does anyone know or heard of how to transfer the mileage from the ecu to the gauges? Im pretty sure that the ecu records mileage too because it would be too easy to roll the odometer back! Any info would be appreciated!
