Custom Tails (not altezzas)

Ok guys i have an extra pair of Tailights for an 01-03 coupe, now i am getting creative and have purchased some LEDS, and am in the process of instaling 8 white LEDS in each reverse light housing in the shape of a ring around the stock reverse bulb inlet. I have one tail light done so far and will finish the other tomorow. I will also be adding 3-4 LEDS in the triangular area on the corner of the tailight that when installed on the vehicle would basicaly be on the side of the car, these wil serve the purpose of being another parking light or turn signal w/e you want to hook them up as. Soi will have pics up tomorow, and so far the one reverse light housing is very bright it is to hard to distinguish a "ring" due to te small area that is being worked with, but it is very bright, if there were HID LEDS these would be them. S l tme know if anone would be interested in this set, or haing e make them their won set iyou have a spare pairlayign around, PM me and we can work something out, havnt decided a price yet for the finsihed prduct, but i will see when i finish, and therefore you will have some pics to look at. let me know...

What did you use to make the distinction between when the car's light are on, and when the brake is applied? You know in place of the "old" double filament bulb.

Good idea. Leds don't put out enough light to be used for brake lights.

haha, that's what i thought.
if it wasn't so much trouble to do the brake light thing, i would have started converting my 02 coupe tails to LED.

anyways, good job for the original poster... keep us updated.

the only problem with going trhoug witht eh brake lights, is the shape of the brakelight-housing on teh back, its no really suitable for mounting the leds, but i finsihe the first tailight as a whole tongiht i just need to fill the holes, i placed two leds above and below where the 194 bulb(parking light) sits in the corner and they are alot brighter( i used red LEDS for this) will have some pics up of thenew compared to stock in a while...

just curious, if you put white LED behind the red lense for turn signals, would it shine regular red? or would it be like pink or other wash out kind of color?

Its better to use RED leds behind the red plastic...

I' ve thought of putting leds into the tails but, issues of heat ran into my head, and I didnt feel safe with my knowledge to do finish it

why dont you just wire up about 5 for regular then when brakes are applied make 5 more come on. Not about brightness but more light????

dim to bright is better, 'cause some people do not know if you are braking or not if its constant brightness. and also double the number of leds, means more heat.
