fog light wiring.
fog light wiring.
Just ordered some ebay fogs and got some questions about wiring
I want to be able to have my fogs on w/ my parking lights or full lights, how would this be acomplished?
I have HID's H4's with no high beams, can I have my high beam switch keep the headlights on (currently they turn off if you hit the highbeams which isnt good for HID's) and turn the fogs off? So that I can blink people when theres cops coming?
after doing all this could I still mount the button and have a manual on/off?
Appreciate the electrical advice in advance thanks!
thanks in advance you guys are awesome

Okay then assuming that the unused 3rd prong is the positive for the high beams, the wiring should be pretty simple now.
You just need to tap power from the positive low beam wire to the high beam prong.
That'll keep your HIDs on when you high beam.
EDIT: When you have halogens, theres a certain point when you slowly flick back the switch, both filaments on the bulb gets power. I'm not sure how that'll affect the HID ballasts. Technically its getting twice the power so something might blow?
You need to tap the positive wire of the parking lights to your fogs to turn them on with your parking lights.
You'd have to tap the positive from the fogs to the positive on the headlights if you want the fog lights to turn off when you high beam.
The problem is how you are going to wire everything so nothing conflicts with each other.
Everything would need to be tapped after the foglight switch so you can turn them off completely.
Gonna go draw this out and see how it'll work.
Damn this is like one of those math logic questions that you need to solve or go crazy
