Hey guys,
It just finished raining a while ago and guess what? My 02 Civic's black TYC Projector Headlights are fogged! (check out the pics) I thought these were like factory sealed headlights. I've had these projectors on since July and it's rained a few times since then and NO problems until NOW!! HELP!!! What can I do to fix this? I would greatly appreciate all your suggestions!
Thanks in advance!

I did that on my tails, but not on the TYC because I fully inspected them and they looked pretty darn sealed. Plus, I have always heard that you did not need to do that (unless they are generic). . . I mean these are TYCs. Anyways, it's a little late for sealing with silicone because they're already fogged. I'm looking for a solution for the fogging. Anything I can do about that? I hope I don't have to go through the hell of returning them and all (since they are supposed to have a warranty).

guy, in what i know any aftermarket headlights should be re-sealed even though you they are factory sealed. IMO use your stock lights for now until the TYC arent fogged up and re-seal them even though you don't want to. that's the only solution.

Don't worry about it. If you still have that little tube thing in the back of the headlight, all the moisture will seep out of there and you'll be fine. Just don't get so damn worked up about it.
Little things like this should be searched for..

It's going to suck taking the headlights out to put silicone on them because I would have to remove my entire aftermarket front bumper and be extremely careful with the foglights. But I'll probably have to do that soon anyway to prevent this from happening again. I just thought that TYC were very good quality and that I would not have to do all the extra stuff since that is what they claim as they make factory parts as well, (that is why I specifically purchased TYC) but I guess I was wrong!
Hey FaiJai,
So do the projectors unfog? Will they return to their natural state or will they remain damaged? That is my main concern right now.
Thanks!

ahhah seriously mega hurtz...somebody move it to lighting.
Civic02ex: with pass experience it will unfog but if you want it to do it quick use a hair dryer to clear it out or just leave it out. hope that helps

yea.. just let it dry out, using whatever method you want, then just use a heapload of silicone on the "seam" where the lense and the housing meets...you can buy a small tube of water/weather proof clear silicone at walmart for like... 3 bucks.. i did that even before i put my lights in and my car has been through a little piece of hurricane charlie and gaston (that was actually a tropical storm) and a constant ~100% humidity and i still have no fogging...
i had the same problem once and all i did was expose them to heat like a hairdryer or shove them them in the oven but not set too high or they will melt and i had them worse but it went away the next day and hasnt happened since.
it did start to look embarrassing since it was like 90-100 degrees and my lights are sweating. i remember someone once saying "damn is that hot out here" looking down at my lights

Hey guys,
I appreciate all the replies. The good news is that my projectors have returned back to normal a few days ago. The fog went away. If this happens in the future, I'll know now that the problem will go away after a few days. Theres no way of taking out the headlights...I have this aftermarket front bumper on with fog lights in the bottom that it wouldn't be wise to keep taking off the front bumper..adjustment fit. But I am thinking of applying some silicone to the top part of the projector when I lift the hood up. But if I can't even do that, I think the headlights will hold up until oneday the bumper comes off. Once again, thanks for your help.

No problem, if you have time. Just take off the projector and reseal it.
Or you can try to reseal it without taking it off.
Go to your local harware store and get some silicone, water proof...Perhaps for tiles. They come in clear, black, white....That should do it. PM if you need more help....
