I'm sellin a booster kit... it'll increase the bulbs brightness by 30%... it has thicker wires so your stock wires will not melt. I plugged in a bulb into a stock harness and the boosted harness... you can totally tell the difference. Here is my thread on it. Pm if your interested.

I think Mtec 4x the wattage is too high or something, so maybe our wire harness can't handle it? 2x means 2 times brighter than stock. 4x means 4 times brighter than stock! Anyway, I just put in my Mtec 2x and so far I like them. Where I live there are a lot of street lamps so I can't really judge the visibility of them. I have to take my car to a dark parking lot in order to see. They're definitely whiter/bluer than the Sylvannia silverstars that I had. Those only lasted like 6 months or something.
I've used cheapo Nokya bulbs, amber yellow bulbs, and expensive Vestec HID-X bulbs.
NOTHING compares to the coverage and brightness you get with good ole regular stock halogens in my opinion.
The blue/white shine is definitely nice but it sure doesn't help you at night.
You'll probably never find anything thats even 50% close to real HIDs.
Maybe if you use the wattage booster you'll come close.
Most cars that I've seen with wattage boosters shine more light in your rear view than on the road. I don't know; maybe on one likes to re-aim their headlights.
I say stop wasting money on blue bulbs and save up for some HIDs. There's used sets that go up for sale regularly on here and at a decent price too.
I know the urge to mod is hard to resist but with a little patience and time you'll come across a good deal and have enough money for it since you saved up.

from far away... any bulb that has a kalven # above 5000k will look like "HID" but... up close, there will be hardly any light output/visibility, and there is no point =]
