HID's

Ok, I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I need some help. I read almost every thread on here about HID's and everyones complaints and about bad aftermarket kits and such. So I have a couple of questions since I really didnt understand the stuff. BTW I have visited all those sites like HIDtech.com and such. I saw on HIDtech.com that they have a "Project 2k2 civic headlight conversion." So i read on it and it says they used the "Euro Spec Hella Bi-Xenon HID Package" and the "Type E projector shrouds." So I'm thinking well if they used this stuff it must work. So I'm planning on getting this setup. I want to know something... I kinda would like to get the TYC lights (the black housed projectors), and then get that stuff from HIDTech... so if I did that would it be hard to install still.. like alot of cutting and frinding and such? I don't really know because it says that the Type E shrouds are from a Mercedes so I think it might work. If the TYC's are gonna suck though I'd like to keep my stock headlights and smoke them. If I smoke them and put the HID in is it going to really reduce the quality of the light and/or make it look stupid. If you could give me as much information about the HIDTech package I mentioned and how it would work with the TYC's and stock it would be really appreciated. Thanks guys...

honestly, those projectors are friken huge... good luck trying to get them to fit perfectly. Just look at the pic on there website, it just makes it. So, if the beam needs to be lower... and if you do lower it, the beam pattern will be weird cause of the tyc shroud. I dont see an "E" projector shroud? show me the pic that you are looking at.

If you are smoking the actualy lense of the headlights then of course its going to dimish light output.

first - do not got to HIDTech.Read about their job at: www.hidforum.com - Vendors problem.Just an advice.
second - in order to fit new HID projs into TYC projs, you`d try tyo get S2K or valeo projs, they fir good, or Hella - almost same.
Go to hidforum and get tons of info how to perfom your project, thats no difficult, just follow DIY.Have q`s feel free to ask an advice.

i have tyc projectors, and i have a 10,000k hid kit from McCouhllic, (or however you spell that name), it took me a while to fit the hid bulb, i had to drill the edges of the housing with titanium bits, the fit was perfect. There were shavings inside the housing that didnt want to come out. so when the light is on, you could see some shavings and one lens looks blurry. Good luck.

hidtech has messed up a couple of times... but, they are like 30 mins from me, and one of the guys is very nice. Nothing is perfect... And doing a retrofit you could mess up a pair of 200$ projectors very easily. Thats why everything costs the way it does.
