Question wiring neon lights

I am trying to rewire my neon light but I am not sure where to run the power from. basically what I want to happen is the lights will turn on when I open my doors. Does anyone have any suggestions??

I couldnt think of anything else. Impulse's idea is best. I guess you could replace where the bulb is for the dome light and branch all the neons off to power them.

you wouldnt connet it to the wires in the dome lights cuz then you would have wires hanging everywhere. you would need to figure out where the wires went to and find a place to splice into them. but why would you want them to come on everytime you open you opened the doors? it would look cool at first but you would grow tired of it and i dont know if you could have them on with the doors closed unless you want both the neons AND the dome lights on. i say just connect them to a switch and then you can have them on whenever you want. just my thoughts.

connect them to the dome light and take the bulb from the dome light out, and then if you wanted the neons to stay on while your driving just turn the dome light on, since there is no bulb there is no blinding dome light just the wonderful glow of the neons.

ok, i have a massive neon wireing system and just today i was thinking abou this. ive got a great idea and how to do it too. the only thing im concerned about is if the dome light has enough amperage to handle my stuff. i think im up to like 6-8 amps or something. what my thing is that i have led lightbulbs and what i did was take them apart. so this leaves me the bottom half of it that slides into where the lightbulb plugs in on the center domelight on my EX. so basically i can plug it in, run the positive and negitive wires to it and route it through the panels all the way to where all my wires are for my neons ( under passenger seat). i already know the route exist for that. I looked into taping it off one of the switchd in the actual doro jam but thats a single wire. so thats a no go. but with this i can control it with the switch on the dome light. that means that i can have it go on when to doors open ( and fade out like it normally does, cept doing it with neons), i can have it stay on and that me a switch fro it or i can have it off. thats my idea, sorry if it isnt clear. lemme know if you want more on it tho bc its really simple to do and totally possible. id get a pic of the bulb that im talking about cept im in school right now.

If you did it to the dome lights, you can always put an intermediate switch in to turn them on without your dome light being on also. Thats what I did with my underbody kit. but with my alarm system.

ok so i did this lastnight, and its awsome, i followed what i said, only took me an hour. door opens blue comes out under the dash. unlock the doors with the keyless entry blue goes on. take the key outta the ignition, blue goes on. i think you get the idea. the great thing is you can turn it off if you need to for some reason by using the selector on the dome light. maybe tonight ill wire the halos in my foglights to it too. ( maybe off the rear dome light... who knows at this ponit). its on a 7.5 amp fuse under the dash so it can handle a few more things.
