Yeah... you read it right. I'm a little worked up. I've now gone through 3 SETS of "HID Bulbs". Just H4 bulbs that are the "4000k" rating or whatever. I've had 3 different types, and not a single one has lasted me over 6 months. I've been very careful to take them out of the package without touching the bulb at all. Then installing them. They work great, and then out of nowhere I'll be driving, and I'll notice a light out when I get close to someones bumber. Anyone had issues with bulbs like me, or could I have other electrical issues? I just had one blow out like two days ago.
Anytime I had one bulb blow out, I would pull both bulbs out and start with 2 fresh ones. I kept the good ones that I pulled out and decided to put one in just a bit ago.
So I went out today, and replaced it with a bulb that I had used for like 4 months. It's mate had blown out on me. I put the bulb in, and it worked good. Drove around for like 4 minutes, came back....and it was still all good. Ran another errand like a half hour later and about 10 minutes into my ride I see the road drop in brightness!!! AHHHHHH.
I pulled the car over and that light had blown out.
I'm at the end of my rope. I'm about to install Hellicopter Search Lights on the front of my car and be done with it.
anyone know of a test I could do to see if it's an electrical thing and not a bulb thing?
My original bulbs were in my car over a year though. No problem. I just pulled them out to put the "blueish HID looking bulbs in". I love the look.
Suggestions???????

Are you using cheap korean bulbs? Buy some regular Philips D2R's and stick them into a set of caspers electronics shields. Unless you headlight leaks in water, or you have some really poor quality ballasts - the Philips D2R should last for years.
It's the cheap knock-off bulbs that burn out quickly. There must be atlest 30 different name brands of the Korean type, and all appear to be the same bulbs. Made in the same factory, just sold under multiple names.

I just looked at the bulbs you mentioned. I found them on this site.
http://www.plasmagarage.com/XENON-bulbs.html
I'm kind of confused by this site though. It makes it sound like they have h4 fitting bulbs, but then it also sounds like you have to get an HID kit to have the bulbs in.
I don't have "TRUE HID" on my car. Just the blueish 4000k bulbs. I've tried like 3 brands of bulbs, with no luck really.
Do these bulbs require me to get a HID kit? It doesn't make a lot of sense. The bulbs on the site are like 155 a pair. But is it a bulb meant for people that have the real HID kits already?
Maybe someone can clear it up. It says it has H4 6000k up to 8000k bulbs. That makes me think I don't need a kit, but I'm sure someone can figure it out.
Thanks

Oh well, nevermind then. You have blue coated halogen bulbs. I thought you had HID. Blue halogens typically don't last very long. If you're sticking with halogen, give these a shot. They aren't very blue, but they will be brighter.

Well if you buy cheap stuff your going to get cheap stuff. Any aftermarket halogen bulbs are going to be crap. The only brand I've had any good luck with was the PIAA's. Plus they are warrantied. At least mine were. They cost alittle bit more, but lasted a heck of alot longer then most.
I think you confused a few people here. You said you had HID bulbs burning out when you actually had blue coated halogens burning out. there is a big difference.
