Clearing my headlights, any advice?
Hey guys,
I'm clearing my headlights tomorrow, and haven't done too much work on my car in the past so I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to make the job go smoothly. I read the diy and it seams fairly straight forward. Especially since I don't have to take the bumper off myself...a guy backed into the front of my car the other day so the body shop is replacing the bumper and headlights. I convinced him to give me the headlights for a night to work on them before he installs them.
All I need to do it is some silicon to seal them back up right? Any advice on what kind?
Do I need new turn signal bulbs or can I leave the stock ones in? I was thinking of putting some new bulbs in the main headlights, would they look bad with the stock turn signals?
I won't ask you what bulbs to get cause I know there's a million posts about that already.

I have the stock parking lights and whiter headlights. Looks nice. I would use an oven on low heat to soften up the sealent. Don't get the chrome pieces dirty! When you're done, pop both halves back in the oven and seal them back up with the stock sealent already in there.

Long enough for the goo to get really soft so you can pry them apart. Use oven mitts cause they'll be hot. As long as you keep the goo inbetween the lights, you can use it to seal them back up. Warm it again, then push it back together and let it cool.

like they said, latex gloves, warm in oven for a short time (don't put it on bake 450 for like 10 minutes, you'll have a mass of melted plastic...), and silicone to make sure you have no leaks. a clear silicone, i used clear liquid nails on mine, and trimmed off excess after it dried. as far as replacing stock HL's, and leaving stock turn signals, i did that for a while, but thought it looked funny wil white HL's, and the yellow color turn signals, so i replaced with a super white turn signal, and put in amber led bulbs for my parking lamps. im still looking for a super white or led parking lamp bulb, but kind of like the amber parking lamp, so im undecided.
