ebay headlight problem

got these headlights off ebay and the plug for the turnsignals are 1557 bulbs and the stock plugs wont plug into the hole... the stock bulbs wont go into the spot in the new headlights either...and the parking light also uses the older style plugs has anyone run into this problem...if so anyone have a solution?

i absolutely want to throw my computer out of the freaking window when i type a long reply and hit send reply, and i get the "page cannot be displayed" and its NOT my computer. but i wont get into that.

anyway, post a pic or link to the lights. the headlights are prolly H1's, not H4's, which is factory bulbs. im surprised the lights did not come w/bulbs, mine did, from ebay. anyway, they have a thread that shows a pic of the back of the light w/the right numbers for bulbs. etc

Park/signal bulb connectors are slightly different between sedan and coupe, could that be it? Is this a matter of the hole being just a little too small, or is the opening drastically different (ie the retaining tabs are totally incompatible)?

cant post pics dont have a digital camera here...the holes on the parking and turnsignals are drastically larger and dont use the same bulb for the turn signal parking lamps are also larger but still use the 194 type bulb...not 6th gen i know the difference...i dont know what the difference between 4dr and coupes are is that possible the 4dr use different sockets for the turnsignals and parking lamp? as for the retaining tabs the stock ones are too small for the new housings ima see what i can figure out but do the 4dr ones fit onto the coupes if not im SOL

the headlight that u got off of ebay are for a sedan. i went to PROCARPARTS and paid them a visit before i bided on them and made sure if the headlights they were selling were for a 2 door or a 4 door. and it turns out that all the ebay gunmetal headlights( if thats what ur talking about) are for the four doors and not hte two. so if you have a coupe then thats the problem. but if u have the sedan and they still don't fit then i don't know. besides if u have hte coupe and the parking light and signal lights won't fit just buy new sockets for them if u don't want to get rid of ur new headlights.

go to auto zone or pepboys and get some automotive goop its some strong silicone sealer for cars it works great.. then just go ahead and tak the whole headlight off ,(it will make it easier if you do).
then all you have to do is take the little rubber peice that is used as a seal off .. then you need to take the peice that connects to the bulb off, not just from the bulb the wire disconnects from itself also.. you will have to do this ne ways because the damn thing will fog up like you wont believe... seal it up with the silicone and let it sit for 2hrs..
and vwala your done you have also just bypassed the biggest problem with these damn headlights also... now they are sealed

Hey acidbaby, have you looked at a sedan headlight versus a coupe? No need to call the guy a foo, he's asking a legit question.

Coupe - sealed with black goo, held together by little metal clips
Sedan - sealed with grey (harder) goo, held together by integrated plastic clips

Yes, the bulb sockets are slightly different in size, hence his current problem. But it's true the bulb type numbers are the same.

The difference goes all the way to the orange lens you take out when clearing. Even the tab locations are different between the two, so an orange lens from a coupe will not fit on a sedan, and vice versa. How do I know this? I've cleared plenty of headlights, both coupe and sedan.

I agree with acidbaby, the headlights the headlights for the coupe and sedan are the same, I have even asked honda and they said they are the same headlight, basically the headlight that was ordered off of ebay probably is a crappy headlight, I have ordered headlights from procarparts and the sockets were bigger and the stock socket pieces wouldnt fit into them, just have to make it work.

ok just one question for anyone who can help with the turn signal plug is the harness on the turn signal of a 4dr different than the coupe? i dont wann order the harness for a 4dr from honda and not be able to plug it into these lights. i know the parking light is different so im asuming the turn signal is as well?
basically does the 4dr use an oval shaped plug for the turn signal harness plug?

im not gonna put them in with silicone what happens when u need a new bulb? or want to put ur stock headlights on? im gonna change the plugs for the parking lense they are different on the 4dr and the 4dr are the same as the ones i have....but the 4dr harness plug is the same on both cars for the turnsignal so im thinking i just need the plug for the bulb from a 4dr to make it work

well the parking light socket from the 4dr works in the headlights and the turnsignal socket is just a tiny bit to small from the 4dr so ima have to seal it up like he said oh well

you can still replace the bulb if you want. it will come undone! silicone is like rubber.
