Rear deck rattle

I have taken my CDM 2001 Si (USDM EX) into Honda twice for this rattle and have given up. There is a rattle in the rear speaker deck at low RPM. They say it has something to do with the third brake light, and have replaced it under warranty, although it is actually worse now >:-| Any help??

I posted a service bulletin for this. Do a search for "rear deck" to find it.

it is the rear brake light. when i turn up my music it rattles. so i opened my trunk and stuck my fingers in some of those spots. found out that when i press the plastic piece of the rear brake light it stops rattling. so i stuck a piece of cloth rolled up so its big enough to push it up a little. hasn't rattled since.
if u do it, i recommed unplugging the power plug to the rear brake light. its right in front of the hole. gives you more room to push the cloth in.

Do what i did, I work for a computer company so I get all sorts of motherboard boxes. Take the foam pads and shove it between the 3rd break light and the rear dash. worked for me. =)

I tried sticking some pads between the plasting and the window - it doesn't work, the plastic isn't rattling against the window. Don't bother, mine left some stick s*** on the plastic that was hard to get off.

its not between the plastic and the window 2001si. its in the trunk. underneath the brake light. its plastic rattling against plastic. so if u stuff something in there to push it up a bit. it won't rattle anymore.

That's what I used to do, but it looks really ghetto no matter what you use. I finally fixed it completely by shoving rags into all the openings underneath the rear deck, from the trunk area. My dealer used a service bulletin on it, but they did not fix it completely.
