Any advice on my civic?

I guess I was dreaming while driving home yesterday. I hit the sidecurb with my front right tire when turned right. Although it was not that serious by any means, my wheel cover did suffer a few scatches and worse than that, I already feel there are some kind of vibration at the lower speed (don't know if it is real or just my mind is doing it). And when I pulled the car from garage this morning, I heard as if the front right tire was touching the mud guard near it or some sort. So what problem could this be? Do I need to take it to dealer right away? Need alignment? I do not want to damage my civic by delaying the necessary repair. [sign]...just feel sorry about myself and dont know what I was doing back then.

Sorry to read that you scraped your car, hey it happens. The vibration could be from a wheel weight getting knocked off, depending on how hard you hit the curb the rubbing noise could be a few different things, maybe you dislodged the wheel well a bit, or something else got dislodged. I'd take it in right away and tell them what happened, weither you go to a dealer or local shop, have it checked out. Its probably minor, but its good to be sure. BTW does the car still drive straight down the road?

Hey, thanks for the reply. There is a Firestone, the "tire specialist"?, nearby where I live. I can take it in sometime this week.

I went on highway after the incident and it seemed to be Okay. I did not feel anything different when going straight. But the kinda vibration is more obvious to me when driving at lower speed (<40mph), it may get worse on the highway but I just could not tell because of the road/wind noise of 2k2 civic.

I'm not to fond of Firestone service centers, but in your case its probaly just a tire out of balance, thats probably the only thing I'd take it there for.

(note, I'm bashing Firestone only because I worked for a Don Olson here in Tampa and they were crooks, I'm not saying they all are like that. Just CMA)

Alright. Thanks for the reminder, Solar.

Since my civic carries Dunlop tires, I checked their website and found two tire dealers within 5 miles of my location, Sears Auto center and Winston Tire. I believe they should honor my tire warranty, don't they? Will bring it in tomorrow for sure.

Appreciate your quick response

I took my car to the sears auto center today and they said the road hazards are not covered under my tire's limited warranty. So it cost me 80 dollars for balancing and alignment. The car is running straight now and I have not felt any vibration yet. Although I admit its my fault hitting the road curb, is there anyway I can get the money from Dunlop Tires or Honda USA? Any opinions are welcome.

In one word, no, it wasn't caused by faulty workmanship, but like you said a mistake you made. Be happy that is all your problem was, I'm sure they'res a lot of people out there that has done the same thing with more damage that wish $80 would fix it. Just suck it up to experiance.
