Rep Power: 0 Hey guys, brake lights out. Bulbs and fuse both good. Switch disengages... And what..
I have a 91 civic wagon. Brake lights aren't coming on. The rear night time lights come on... But when I push the pedal I'm not getting a brake light.
ALL fuses are good and intact. Bulbs are good, right size/filament.
When I push the brake in, the switch piece slides out...
BUT, there's a blue and red wire, that connects to that "3M" adapter. Both ends on each side of that 3M adapter are cut. The green wire (that runs from the brake switch) is still intact.
Is the red and blue important? I can't see where either side runs so I'm unsure of what it does...
Any tips on what to trouble shoot next would rock!
Thanks guys.
Edit: Here's that wire btw...

The white part ?? It looks like a wire tap to me, used to tie a new wire into an exsisting wire. It was likely someones mod or for an alarm.
Does your horn work ?? They usually share a fuse, If it does work I would start by checking for voltage on the 2 wires going to the switch. 1 side should have constant voltage and the other side should have it when the pedal is pushed down.

Horn still doesn't work. When I push the button everything on the car dims. I assume the horn(s) are bad. Don't know if I care at all about a horn at the moment...
But thanks much for the help!
