Rep Power: 0 Wanna swap a automatic transmission to 5 speed
Hello guys
I just brought a 99 ex with 171k civic I check the fluids and drove it in a residential are (big mistake). When I drove it on the highway the next day it got stuck on 3 and 4 gear. Well I know the tranny bascally gone .. I'm gonna try draining it but I'm still thinking. The car is gonna become a project car for me. To give to my nephew when he is 16 his is 14 now so I have time 😂😂😂. I wanna swap it to a 5 speed . Has any one done this .. What are the u foreseen things that will pop up ?? Thank u very much

I did it on a 7th gen, i was actual really easy.
It took me about a week working 2-8hour days (I took time off work). about 4 days to pull everything and three to install and test.
The hardest part was re-coding my new ecu to the key and ignition, but I don't think you'll have to do that on a sixth gen.
As well you will need to wire up some new reverse light wires since the automatic shift assembly is wired differently then the manual.
