Rep Power: 0 lost power under 3000 rpms
Hi I recently brought a 2000 Honda Civic DX it has had done a mini me swap to it honestly the car is beautiful no rust and being in a area that snows is almost unbelievable so let me start by saying when I first got it I had 4 codes and the rpms would not hold steady they would shift between 1500 and 3000 rpms. I don't know the exact term for what they where called but they where misfire code, running lean bank 1,o2 sensor, and knock sensor. I took the car to a shop and had the intake Manifold gasket replaced and long and be hold the misfire code disappeared, the running lean and the o2 sensor code disappeared too also the cars idle was fixed as well, but the knock sensor code is still there. Now I have the knock sensor code and I'm debating on a few things it is sadly I don't think it's the knock sensor as it's brand new. My mechanic thinks that it is the wiring job who ever had it last did. Honestly though I'm not feeling like it's electrical is the reasoning for the lost of power below 3000 rpms. I think it has to do with the head gasket being bad! does anyone find that possible. Please remember this is a mini-me setup. HELP!
THe mini me is a D16y7 bottom and D16y8 head

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: lost power under 3000 rpms
How do you think a a head gasket problem would cause a knock sensor code?
Do you understand what the computer had to 'see' (detect electrically) in order to set a knock sensor code?

So should I work on getting the whip fixed?
If it is electrical?

start with the electrical work, seem it need to be done anyway. Sounds that it would also require less time/work than gasket
What is the reason not to try it first? A swap could have suspicious connections. Peace of mind.
Not sure your mind is locked in gasket right now...
Do one, not solved?do the next (if it is really bad as you say, we have no way of knowing from across the computer screen.
