Rep Power: 0 Resetting the Check engine light !?
Hello,
I have a 2007 Civic DX-G and recently after playing with it I forgot to hook up all the cables before trying to start the engine and now the check engine light stays on all the time ( all cables are hooked up now ). so I was wondering if there is a way to reset the light myself. I will hate to have to take it to the dealer for something like that as it will kill a lot of my time, which I don't have enough of as it is.
I read about a fuse you can pull out for a while which resets the light but I guess that is valid only for the older ones as it didn't work for me.
Thanks in advance !

I already did and all I found was about older models. None of the methods worked for me that is why I am posting.
But thanks for the suggestion anyway, I am sure it is a very helpful one for many people !

OK just an update on the CEL issue:
Few days later the light went off all byitself. So the system clears the fault code automatically once the problem is fixed

depends on the problem.. sometimes it wont always fix itself.. even if you fix the problem sometimes it will stay on meaning it requires special attention

yeah a code reader is great, otherwise gotta pull the battery or find and remove FI ECU fuse if you have that. newer civics do.

Take off the negative wire on yer battery, turn on the lights and pump your brakes. Put it back on, start the car, and it should be gone (as long as the problem is fixed).
