So my 2012 Civic has a problem with the defroster on the driver side rear view mirror. The back window and passenger side rear view mirror defrosters work, but the driver's side rear view mirror defroster does not work.
Can anybody tell me:
a) If this is covered under warranty because I can't find it in the warranty guide; and
b) If there is an easy fix for this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. My car was purchased in May of 2011 and has 92,000km on it.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: 2012 civic - rear defroster problem
It's only covered by the basic bumper to bumper warranty, in the US it's 3 years/36,000 miles. (IDK what the equivalent kilometers is for that, maybe 50k?.)
Unless you got an extended warranty.

Quality is going downhill for Honda. If I wanted a GM I'd buy a GM. Not good.
Who knows how much it will cost to fix this?

There's nothing Chinese about that.
It was a simple logic question.
It was a representation of the illogical question you asked that cannot be answered until one knows the rest of the answers, and many are variables:
So, how long is a stick? Tell me!
See what I'm getting at here?
Your question about a price cannot be answered until other questions have been answered.
Namely, figuring out what EXACTLY is the cause of your complaint.
Even at that point, the only ones that can tell you a price are the ones doing the work.
Yeah, sure it could.
And it could be any of a pile of other things too.
If one mirror heats and the other does not, then according to my wiring diagrams you have these possibilities: About 5 wire connections with 9 different terminals, 3 meters of wire or so, the power mirror head and its wires inside, and the glass itself that contains the heating element. Take your pick.
A logical approach to electrical problem diagnosis is a necessity.

So Honda says it could simply be a loose connector...I guess I'll find out.

Door panels already getting loose...that would be three problems.
I treat my car like gold...and I certainly don't abuse it. I drive it like an old man and I maintain it according to the manual on time and all of the time. I even do it before it's recommended. The gadgets and interior are cheaper than they used to be on the older model Civics - period. I'm not the only one who has these complaints about the 2012.
Your point is well taken about knowing what something costs before the problem is determined. Other than that, please don't insult me.
Thanks.

confusing me with ezone, my last comment was my only in this thread.
Also, you failed to mention those other issues in this post, so as far as I could tell your general assumption was un-justified.
I do apologize that the assumption i made on given evidence offended you.
I have 5 good friends with civics, and the only problems they have had with them have been the sun visor issue, which is fixed free, and issues caused by the idiot dealership in my area.
Perhaps your car was just built on a really bad day in the factory?
Regardless, one could argue that the interior of nearly all cars has steadily been made cheaper since pretty much the 1960's.
But this thread wasn't started to argue points, at this point I'm rambling and I do apologize.

Door panels loose = ???
The front door panels on my 2010 have been noisy since day 1 only if you press on them, if/when they come off hope to fix them with some felt.
Everything is cheap these day....we all ordered it up. Just look at all the fully loaded kia and Hyundai driving around these days.
No car is perfect, but Honda comes damn close.
