Hey all. I picked u an 2001 Civic coupe DX for a deal. I drove the wheels off my old 86 Accord so I'm hoping this will be as reliable. But I know I need to fix previous owners f'ups. Thankfully only 2 other owners. 1.7 auto. Since I've bought it I always thought it was dark blue and it is actually black.

Thanks guys. Now I need to get on code info and start searching. I need to do a clean on the IACV. 195k and it looked like the original plugs. I bought a set of NGK double platinums but I still have a miss on number 3. Swapped coils with another cylinder and the miss stayed at number 3.

I'll do more testing tonight or tomorrow. I know at the plug for the coil I'm getting 12v with the key on. I didn't do a spark test. I'm going to fire it up for a minute and then pull the plug and see if it is wet and test for spark.
btw: your location sounds familiar. Have a good day Kent.

Update. I did a spark test on an old plug. Good spark. So I pulled the one out and it smelled of gas. So thinking about install I did drop one down the engine bay and that must have been enough. I put the old sparker in and running on all 4. Good deal. Now it needs throttle body cleaning due to low idle.

I finally checked valve adjustment and all were within spec. Maybe clean valves through intake? I should have spun it over checking cam\valve movement.

Air pressure check (leakdown test) the low cylinder, see where the loss is leaking out or what isn't sealing.

It is definitely an exhaust leak. I might be able to check it out through the exhaust port. I sprayed the exhaust manifold cover and any bolts I could get to with PB Blaster. So it is soaking.
