Rear Bumper Cover Tow Hook Confusion: 2025 Civic Hybrid Hatchback Sport
Hello Civic experts,
I am based in the United States and trying to get a replacement rear bumper cover for my 2025 Civic Hybrid Hatchback (Sport trim) and am getting some confusing answers from the dealership and body shops I'm talking to. Here's what my car's rear bumper looks like with the tow hook cover circled in yellow: 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Hatchback Sport
But when the dealer/bodyshop looked up my VIN, the replacement part number that comes back is 04715-T47-A00ZZ - this looks like my bumper cover except for one difference - there is no cut-out/door for the tow hook cover to slot in. 04715-T47-A00ZZ
My car appears to be built in Japan based on the J at the beginning of the VIN (JHMFL4XXXXXXXXXXX) - so I was wondering, how are folks who need a similar replacement sourcing these bumper covers when based in the United States? I'm guessing is this a Japan-exclusive part? TIA!
I recently made an identical post in reddit and didn't learn too much about my specific vehicle - I also found a listing for the part online at jdmyamato.com (it is pre-painted and boost blue doesn't seem to be an available color so it's not a 100% match, but I can see the tow hook cover present in the schematic). But it's sold out and no dealer near me seems to be able to source it/folks seem to be misinformed when they say they have it: 71500-T43-J50ZB
I do have a threaded tow hook in the trunk and I saw there were some threads in the chassis when the bumper was off so there is functionality that I'm sacrificing by going with this new bumper.

does not matter where it was made, the car was made to certain specific market and shipped there.
If it was sold in Japan and imported by someone to US, it would be a JDM (M stands for market)

That makes sense - yeah that's what's even more confusing that any dealers/body shop I talk to are finding replacement bumper without the tow-hook cover - I shouldn't have to look for this part in another country's supply of spare parts when it was sold in the US and not destined for JDM. Thanks for your response!
