Our 2012 Civic si manual 6 speed has become really hard to shift into gear. We recently had record low temperatures with sleet and snow in the area. The car sat for 6 days and it was at this point the shifting issue began. The temperatures have warmed up since but the shifting issue remains. The clutch fluid reservoir is full and the shifting seems to get some better once we get it going. What should I be looking at to remedy the issue?

Kinda vague description, so....
Inspect shift cables and linkages for wear and operation (maybe mice built a nest on top of your transmission or something)
Check more into clutch and/or disc issues. Decide if the problem is actually related to a clutch mechanical or hydraulic problem instead of an internal transmission problem.
Replace fluid first (use Hondas manual trans fluid) and try it out before deciding to take the trans out for major work.
Thanks for your responses! It was a real easy fix. Even though it was hard to notice, the floor mat had wrinkled up under the clutch pedal a little and not allowing enough travel.

Well the mat under the clutch pedal turned out to be wishful thinking. I have since changed the transmission fluid with Honda brand fluid and bled the slave cylinder numerous times. The problem is intermittent and it always involves low speed forward gears and reverse. Any more ideas before I take it in to the stealership?

Is the clutch not disengaging completely when you push the pedal down?
How many miles on the car?
Ever had a clutch job done on it?
How much free play is in the pedal link?
How close to the floor does the clutch start to engage?

The transmission is hard or impossible to engage into 1st and/or reverse at times. It does fine for a few days after bleeding the slave cylinder but problem returns. I see no signs of leaking and the reservoir is always full. 130k on the car with no previous work performed. Play is minimum in pedal and all travel is normal regarding pedal. Seems to me the problem is hydraulic but not sure if its within the slave or master cylinder. Thanks!
No leaks. I'm going to try the easier and cheaper things first and start with replacing the slave even though it's not leaking. It's not the norm but I have been reading instances where they were faulty but not leaking. Pulling the trans will be the last resort.
