Manual Tranny Fluid
I have a 97 civic ex with low tranny fluid. I was just going to add some to top it off. Is it better to use the Honda MTF or is using the equivelent just fine?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Manual Tranny Fluid
I'd go with the Honda stuff just to be safe. I personally use Redline MTL. I haven't had any issues in the year I've had it, nor have I heard anything bad. I had the OEM Honda stuff, and it wasn't as great as the Redline in the colder months here. I'd just stay away from the Royal Purple tranny fluid. I've heard bad news about that stuff.....
Re: Manual Tranny Fluid
The honda stuff has a much higher friction reduction than 10w-30. It is very stiff with 10w-30, so you are getting more gear and bearing wear and less mpg.
