what is a k20a? - whats the difference between it and your stock motor.

You should consider a 4g63t

well besides turno or spray is there anything else lol

Re: k24/20 finally done

cams

filipinop1405 10-24-2008 11:53 AM

Re: k24/20 finally done

yea internals and prep for turbo... if i were you i would decide on what i wanted to do... either N/A or F/I and then go from there. just my .02 cents from one soldier to another... assuming that you are army.

TRIZ 10-24-2008 12:31 PM

Re: k24/20 finally done

You can also pick up a supercharger for it. When you SC those motors, they fly. Also, I cant really tell what kind of intake that is... it looks homemade? If you wont be doing FI anytime soon, then buy an intake.

Building a K is a lot like building a D.
Internals for the head- valves, springs, retainers, cams
Internals for the bock- pistons, rods, crank
You could also Pnp, but do it after you have everything done.

And yes, either turbo, supercharger, or nitrous, or a combo with the latter. Then you can mess with manifolds and all of that. Do you have an exhaust yet? The cats off the K series are restrictive- picking up the random tech downpipe will free up a little more power and make it more responsive- which is much more noticeable when your running with FI.

What else could you do... clutch, flywheel.. I think thats about all your options.

You already running Kpro, so your well on your way to being able to really tune the shit outta that thing.

Re: k24/20 finally done

whatever route you decide to go I highly recommend upgrading to the s2k oil pump if you didnt already upgrade to the rsx-s one

welcome to the Frank Club

Nice upgrade, I'm a bit green with envy.

so which one would you recommend?? rsx-s or s2k??

sniperscout 10-25-2008 02:03 AM

Re: k24/20 finally done

if he did the rsx one i would stick with it but if he is still running the k24 oil pump i would go with the s2k oil pump. both are good but s2k is a little better

edrulz2003 10-25-2008 07:15 AM

Re: k24/20 finally done

im runnin the k20 oil pump and was gonna stick with it

i wanna eventually turbo it..

filipinop1405 10-25-2008 08:38 AM

Re: k24/20 finally done

oh ok good info!

edrulz2003 10-25-2008 10:15 AM

Re: k24/20 finally done

ok so for all the guys info who are helpin me out here, i will tell you my plans with the motor..

wanna fully re do the bottom end..crank, rods, pistons, sleeve, balance and hone.

with the head pnp, valves, cams, etc. s

pretty much im gonna re build the whole motor and i wanna turbo it and look for like 600hp in the area some where..

for now i have it stock and i might throw a 100 shot on there for shits and giggles..all this work wont be done til june cause thats when i will be home...

MrXclusivE 10-25-2008 12:47 PM

Re: k24/20 finally done

600 hp??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? wow

edrulz2003 10-25-2008 01:51 PM

Re: k24/20 finally done

yea 600..it seems like a reasonable goal..i wont wanna use that much power when im normally driving but would be nice to have...atleast 350-400 will satisfy me

edrulz2003 10-25-2008 01:53 PM

Re: k24/20 finally done

dont get me wrong i wanna do this build right and all..im gonna beef up the supension, tranny, and get some slicks and all for when i wanna unleash the whip at the track...

sniperscout 10-25-2008 02:16 PM

Re: k24/20 finally done

600 is a good obtainable number

filipinop1405 10-25-2008 04:54 PM

Re: k24/20 finally done

^ i agree... well remember that with you wanting to go turbo that when you start to build the bottom end that you get low compression pistons, etc. pretty much build it with going turbo in mind... hell do that before you put the nitrous on... just my .02 cents again.

sniperscout 10-25-2008 05:12 PM

wow 15x8 are those track tires? i would go more with 17 i am pretty sure they can fit with a lower profile tire. Sniperscout what size are you running now?

Re: k24/20 finally done

well for the track 15's or 16's are better supposedly cuz of something... but i can't remember the words right now. i can't say shit tho... i got 18's...

yeah thats why i was asking. thats a good size for track tires but for street wheels. i would go bigger. just too much side wall on the 15's for me...

rotation mass and weight is what makes the 15 better for the track. cause the 2 lbs different is alot more when spinning...

exactly thats why i got the 15's its less centrifugal force to be hauling around.. i had 18's with a super low pro but after 3 or 4 sets of tires that got to expensive. i was just gonna keep the 15's on and drop my car and call it a day.

YES I HAVE K PRO...its the way to go if your k powered and i dont wanna halp ass this build at all.

low compression pistons..roger.. go it.. i will get ever low compression when i get back from this hell hole. what turbo would u recommend guys

edrulz2003 01-17-2009 06:57 AM

Re: k24/20 finally done

ok im finally home and i taken the care out for a lil cruise..

Since its 10 degrees here it game me a super hard time to start, but after it started i smelt like tranny fluid bein burned or gears in the tranny..who knows it might been from tryin to cold start it but anyways the smell is gone.

now when i first took off my check engine light came on, so i cruised it at a low rpm til i got home, i turned it off and then back on the light went away. Now everytime it keeps comin back on then turnin off after every restart.

I hope its not the motor already but im takin it to get scanned today to see what code it is..

any recommediations

you should check for codes in KPRO...

Re: k24/20 finally done

do a rear disc conversion from a rsx or take the complete brake system from a rsx type s the rotors are bigger then yours and all that power that your new motor is puttin down needs to be slowed down sometime..good luck with it it looks great...........oh yea and the drop to..haha
