the junction box aka central grounding point is used so the negative terminal won't be overcrowded with wires ..

here's a pic of a car with the kit installed .. the juction box is the pic on the right:

slamtank 08-05-2003 12:29 PM

wow wow..where did u get that bracket?
i mean that gold or copper piece on the juction box..
is preventing the negative terminal to be overcrowded just for a looks or does it do something better?

aznrj 08-05-2003 12:56 PM

i want those..

sepudo 08-05-2003 01:15 PM

nymbus2k:
thanks for commenting about my setup.

how are those grounding points holding out for you?

I would suggest grounding your driver side tower to the junction instead of the firewall, remember, path of least resistance...
just a thought.

Also, your 0-60 numbers are very realistic, although I haven't clocked myself, I too noticed a differerence after reseting the ecu and driving around for a while.
By far the most productive DIY - cost to benefit ratio

nymbus2k 08-05-2003 01:19 PM

slamtank: the junction box is just an aluminum triangle with predrilled/threaded holes for one side of the ground wire to bolt onto

sepudo: the kit did not come with a wire/cable long enough to travel from my positioned junction box to the driver's side strut .. the only location i had for the juction box was just below the fuse box .. i will try to get pix up soon to help my statements

nymbus2k 08-05-2003 03:38 PM

here are some pix i took just minutes ago with the arospeed ground wire kit installed:

wont your engine bay look all wire-messy w/ all those wires after install.

slamtank 08-06-2003 07:57 AM

where did u get that redish purple thing? is it called bracket? whatever..where did u get it?

PaCiFiKbAllA 08-06-2003 07:27 PM

dude that is exactly what i wanna know...where did u get that so called "junction box" and how did u bolt it to the fender wall? i read all these posts about the grounding kit and i must admit, we have some smart 7th gen drivers....all u tech headz i give u propz! I might order a set from happies and choose a whole new pattern of grounding points...just to see if there is a difference from the way all uv yall are doin' it....i do like the way you made yours tho nymbus2k....much props!

happies713 08-06-2003 08:44 PM

My kit only has two wires going form the negative terminal.

That red kit looks over croweded, its nice!

but my kit is a simple 5 wire, Dasiy Chain method, much cleaner, and simpler looking, but still very effective in provind you with a smoother idle, increased throttle response, brighter head lights, increased stereo efficency. =)

nymbus2k 08-06-2003 09:28 PM

the junction box came with the arospeed ground wire kit:
http://arospeed.net/images/images_big/groundwires.jpg

i used the hole that bolted a mount for the fuse box to bolt the junction box .. but the bolt that was on the mount was too small and narrow for the juction box ... so i made the hole larger and used the supplied bolt and nut to secure the juction box into place

its acutally my friends car. he LOVES it. def recommanded

slamtank 08-07-2003 11:03 PM

wow..but can we just put one wire that goes to the silver bolt right above the third coil bolt? which one will be better?

That's what I'm wondering myself... It's hard to get those wires to contact the little bolts on those ignition coils. If you've ever taken those nuts off you'll know what I mean. Plus the valve cover is magnesium and those bolts are imbedded in it. Magnesium has a relative electrical conductivity of 0.42, while aluminum has a relative electrical conductivity of 1.00. I would ground the two bolts that hold the valve cover on. Those probably go all the way through the valve cover and touch the block. Then again, maybe both would be good?

Has anyone noticed when you shut the car off with the grounding kits the tach and speedo needles jump a little?

happies713 08-11-2003 10:12 PM

Having my kit on my Honda Civic LX, the car i have not noticed the speedo jumping.

YS 08-12-2003 12:39 AM

me too

2k1civicExCoupe 08-12-2003 08:10 PM

I made my own kit(sorry Happies) but i have all of the points installed except the 2 where the radiator support is. the nut WILL NOT come off. i tried everything and pretty much all possibilities. can anyone help me. o yea, i did feel smoother shifts, brighter lights, and louder stereo. PLEEEAASSEEE HELP!

cdmx 08-18-2003 01:45 PM

um try a longer breaker bar...i dont see why it would be so hard to get off...see if they might have welded it by mistake. only other thing i can think of is to liberally soak it with WD-40

cdmx 08-18-2003 01:47 PM

This is just an update on my earlier post...I finally recieved the gold ring terminals...there must have been something wrong with shipping...he finally sent the package with priority mail and i received them. he sent me like alot more than i ordered. I highly reccomend.

http://www.audiotronicsaccessories.c...2002/inac.html

Here is what i bought:
http://www.knukonceptz.com/Product/KOL0BKS.jpg 11 feet 4 Gauge black/clear 2058 strand OFC wire. $15.89
https://store6.yimg.com/I/audiotronics2002_1750_5949156 8 -4 awg 5/16 stud Gold ring terminals $5.92
http://ebay0.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_...c2a445/i-1.JPG 2 gold Battery terminals inputs for (1) 0 (1) 4 and (2) 8 gauge power wires $29.30

hehe so i spent 51.11

This is an update on those gold ring terminals i bought....WELL i have not recieved them and i was supposed to a week ago, the guy even offered to overnight ship another set BUT i have not recieved those either. I have requested a refund

yellowcoppy95 09-11-2003 11:07 AM

i would like to know if anybody out there that has bought the kit (or something similar to it) has found any other/better grounding points?

gearbox 09-13-2003 11:26 AM

I bought it, but the grounding points given are already good. The biggest gains I noticed were better cold starting and improved stereo performance.

reloaded 09-13-2003 03:01 PM

grounding wires

Circular Grounding System - By utilizing a 24 karat gold plated distribution block and multiple grounding points, improved idle and drivability are often obtained as the additional grounding points equalize resistance and voltage between various ground points. Each 8 gauge spiral twined cable is wrapped with signature HKS purple plastic to protect and add color to the Circle Earth System. Vehicle specific kits included pre-measured cable lengths and distribution blocks.

kinda pricy

damm that's alot for a grounding kit!!! I was gonna get this "platinum" one that this shop in Houston Manufacturers but i doubt it's real platinum or anything !! besides there selling it for 75 bux some i like what the hell...

cdmx 09-13-2003 06:03 PM

i found out if you have better spark plugs you might not notice a difference with anything but stereo sound (mabye)
