OMG~ I FxxKED it up~ Plz h31p~
so I completed the 'black housing headlights' DIY last evening..
when I re-assembled the headlights back to my car..
they looked phat~ really.. freakin' nice..
but then this morning when i go outside..
Dumn~!
my headlights were paritally fogged (really foggy) up~
.. and that's not the end of the surprise yet..
one of my headlight was popped..
the silicone b/w them probably didn't do a good job..
i dunno y.. but..
it looked like the guy on guiness record where he can pop his eyes really far out..
yikes..
now.. there's a gap (not really big but very obvious) b/w the headlight and the front headlight section..
really shitty..
what 2 do about this?
should i take it out, rip it apart, scrap out all glue + silicone and re-apply the silicone?
but then.. for those who did this b4 may know that those glue which honda used originally was really damn hard to take off?
or.. just be simple.. head out for a new pair of headlights?
but.. my pay day is not even close.. argh..
sorry for da long post..
but any reply/advice would be very helpful..
thx~
ps. i really suck at this hand-made ****.. i never get them right.. guess u guys really pro @ these..

Once Again with the K&B Clear Silicone ... no problems
Dont worry about getting all the factory glue off, just get the stuff you put on off,
Then reapply liberally ...
Then let the lights sit overnight. before putting them on the car.

Take the headlight out, use a hairdryer to get the fog out, re-seal the headlights, and let them dry overnigh inside. You may have not let them dry enough. I let my headlights dry overnight when I cleared them, when I woke up, I checked the seal to make sure there were no gaps. If there were, I just got a bit of silicon and filled it in, waiting one more hour, and re-installed them. Its been more than a year now and I haven't had my headlights leak once.

This may be a stupid question, but why doesn't anybody go and buy that anit-fog stuff that people put on their glasses, and spray it on the inside of their headlights? The stuff is available at any one hour glasses place, and should work on the plastic lens of a headlight, cause most glasses are plastic lenses too. That way, you'd never have to worry about your cleared headlights fogging again.

I wouldn't use that anti-fog stuff, I mean if you can spray it then it must be some kind of liquid, and since it's liquid it might evaporate in the future and fog up the headlight, it will also be trapped since you seal the headlight.

what's the name/brand? maybe i should try it..
WARNING!
I was thinking about this at work tonight as well, there may be a problem with this idea. One of two things could happen. Either, you need to re-apply this stuff every so often, which means either pulling apart the headlights again, or just a one-time application, which obviously doesn't do much after the first application.
The other thing is that this stuff may discolor in the sunlight. Remember this works like a glaze almost, so in direct sunlight, it may discolor.
Now that I mentioned these possibilities, you're on your own. If something bad happens, don't say I didn't warn ya'.

Cuase if the water doesn't fog, and stick to the plastic lens, then it swishes around and corrodes everything it touches. If you seal it right, you will have no problems.
just wondering..
what brand name of silicone ('kitchen and bath' as suggested) did you guys used?
i used Mono Ultra Clear Exterior..
since i am gonna get a new bottle anyway..
maybe i should get one of the ones you guys used..
so there will be answer whether it's my sucky hand-made..
or it's the Mono silicone which caused the "foggy-ness"..
thx..

Dude you forgot to clear your head lights
*SMACK*
I can't imagine how the AC is going to relate to the fog, but the temperature and the humidity outside is going to be the biggest factor
