I have a '03 LX Coupe w/ Auto tranny.
Up until yesterday, I noticed my car wouldn't redline when I stepped on it. It seems to be shifting at about 5.5k rpms which I can't explain because it would always shift at 6.5k up until now. No warning lights have come on and the entire car seems to be running fine with the exception of the whole redline thing.
Has this happend to anyone else? How can I fix this?
I'm thinking of resetting my ECU (pulling the fuse) but is there anything else I can do?
Thanks.

While I agree the ECU does learn how you drive and adapt it doesnt change the shift points at all. Those settings are directly programmed into the ECU with shift points according to the throttle position and speed.
r1 style, double check the kick down cable to the tranny. If you check the throttle body on the the engine you will see a cable run from the drivers side firewall (throttle cable) and you should notice another cable run from the throttle to the auto tranny. This measures the amount of throttle you are giving the car and it picks the appropriate shift point. Make sure there is a little bit of play (1/2") or so max. If there is alot more it needs to be adjusted. Take it to honda and have them do it. Cables will tend to stretch and adjust so this may be the car working itself in. If the cable and all that is in place take the car to honda and have them check the car out.
Although I dont have an automatic I have noticed with other car manufacturers that sometimes the car wont shift as high in first gear. The second to third shifts will be at redline but I think the 1st to 2nd sometimes is lessen as to no put as much wear on the tranny. There is alot more of a jerk at the lower speeds.

pu in d2 n slam the gas if u want to redline.
also i manage to redline in second gear while in D mode....basically how i got it is press hard on the gas but keep ur foot in that spot without budging a nanometer......i hit 6.5k easily
