Want to swap engines.

Is there a fast engine out there that can drop straight into my 2001 civic dx? I would really like to do a swap! Thanks

the only engine that can be drop are the K series, off the RSX-S. B series can be done, if you find a 01 acura.

They are still working on those mounts. I think it will be awhile for those. The only engine that has been in dropped into a civic is the K20. Now the K20 comes in various forms, 160hp, 180hp, 200hp, and 220hp. The 220hp one will be expensive because it will be an RSX-R from Japan. The most common swap (haha like it is really THAT common) is the 200hp RSX-S k20 motor. I don't know all the little codes after the K20 that distinquish between motors but whatever.

Which car has 180hp?
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but...
Base RSX and Civic Si = 160hp
????? = 180hp?
RSX-S = 200hp
RSX-R = 220hp

Yes you can swap the K24 out of both of them. I would recommend the K24A2 out of the TSX. If not then get the K24 block and put the K20A2 head on it.

It has been done. In an EP. K24 block, K20A2 head, but with the K20A3 ECU. so the cut off was 6800rpm. It made almost the same results that the K24A2 in the TSX.

No, the K20A head has not been used on the K24 block yet.

Unless it's been done and reported on some website or in some magazine, there is no one here that would know that one. In fact, even someone that's been building engines and working with performance engines for years would be giving a very rough estimate on something like that.

if you put in a k20 from a 2002 and up, you need to upgrade your immobilizer unit to the 2002 unit or else your car wont work with the k20

it should run you around $150 from the dealer also you need to get the ecu flashed by them as well
