Question Another Question about Clearing Headlights?? (Not a repost)

myc ar is a 02 ex sedanok, so i tryed to do the clearing headlight thing a few months ago and i was able to get the headlights out with no promblem but then I didn't know how to get them apart so i failed miserably. Now im gonna try again and I've heard of 2 cases.

1. Hair Dryer melts the glue. (how long did it take)
2. The old "throw ur headlights in the microwave" trick. When it comes to cooking im a retarded 3 year old with 1 leg so i nneed specifics if settings and such.

and when re-sealing exaclty wut kinda silicone to use, where to get it and where to put it on the headlight. With a little bit of help i will be able to succsefully clear my headlights. I've read all 2,094 post about clearing headlights and this isnt a repost.

Use method #2, but I don't think it's the microwave...it's the oven. The setting...you can search for it...I think I read that it was at 350-400 degrees??? you can goto any auto store and buy some silicone, if you are not sure which ones to buy then you can always ask the ppl there.

Sedan clearing is very easy. Just throw in an oven at the lowest temp (~250F) and wait a few minutes until the glue becomes soft and liquid. Then the lights just pull apart. When finished, just put them back together using the original glue in there. (You need to stick both sides in the oven again to melt the glue). Then the pieces just close back up and the original glue gets hard again. I've never had a problem yet.

use a razor blade, cut around the seal, pry apart, remove the lens, put back together, press really hard together, and it should be sealed again, this is how i did mine

i used a hair dryer to warm it up and then i pryed it apart with a pair of screwdrivers. it was fairly easy. btw, i have a coupe. also, i recommend you reseal them. i used kitchen and bath clear silicone, works great, still no fogging after 10 months
