Throttle Bearing
Could someone please tell me what a throttle bearing is in regards to the clutch?
I am getting a rubbing or slight knocking sound/vibration when driving at low speeds. This usually happens upon taking off and does not matter if car is in 1st or 2nd. The clutch engages and disengages fine with no problems. There is just this noise and vibration that can be felt in the pedals. There also seems to be no problem when shifting between gears (that or there is enough engine/road noise and vibration not to notice). Mechanic says that wear on the clutch is causing the throttle bearing to rub. I have never heard of this and found nothing by doing searches. Mechanic also says this is most likely from aggressive driving. I never do burnouts and do not ride my clutch, so this sounds weird. The sound is slight and it could have been going on for some time. I usually have my system up loud enough that I can feel the beat in the pedals and could not hear this problem. I recently had some rattles from an alarm install and was driving without the system on to listen for siren rattle...
If someone could explain what the throttle bearing is and if they've ever head of this, I would really appreciate it.

Yah, throwout bearing... its what pulls the clutch plate off the flywheel when you kick the pedal... thats a warranty thing, the bearings outside the housing that engage it need to be repacked with grease. Its not because of how you drive, its because the factory ****ed up.. it happened in my car and took 5 trips to get right. Tell them to repack the bearings with the grease they use in the Odyssey sliding door... that **** works real well.
hahah that sucks... same thing happened to me... except the throwout bearing went bad and it destroy'd all the bearings on the input shaft .... lol Honda had to replace the whole thing... whole tranny top to bottem and a new clutch... just in time too... 34k ... hahahhaahhahah gotta love warranty... hell I even rushed them cause i was about to go away to school last sept .. they had to overnight all the parts ... did the work in 3 days . Gotta love honda and their shitty cars. lol i love my civic. seriously.
