Wet Filter Type vs Dry Filter Type...
Ok, from what I know and understand, the wet filter type is one that is oiled, like the ones that come on AEM products, whereas the dry type is the kind that A'PEXi makes. What I am wondering is, since A'PEXi doesn't oil theirs, does that mean it filters the air as efficiently as the other wet type filters, or is it just for the sole purpose of reducing the restriction of air? Because I was just wondering is if it's just the fact that they allow more air through, could you infact oil the A'PEXi dry type filter? Or would that reduce the efficiency of it, and mess it up somehow? Or are they designed to filter efficiently enough without oil? Thanks.

It really depends on the material fo the filter element its self.
Dry filters are commonly a sponge / foamy material.
Wet filers like K&N AEM filter is a cotton based filter element that needs to have the oil to be reusable this way the dirt and stuff sticks to it for better cleaning. I think.
And then there are stainless steel filters.
As for universal filter thay can be used but just make sure you are getting the proper size universal filter.

Ok well here is what I'm talking about just to clarify. APEXI POWER INTAKE FILTER
What kind of adpater would I need?
It says that it will only work with an A'PEXi intake system, but it says universal
It also says it's 80mm, so that should fit a 3" pipe correct?
Note: May Require Use of Adapter
3-Point Sound Adjustment

It shoud fit 80 milimeters = 3.149606 inches
Well it seems like it would be pretty cool.
I'm no expert though.
sounds like a turbo filter.
Cool that it is sound adjustable though.

Hmmm. I don't know how on earth that would go on then, and I haven't seen an adapter on any site mentioned for that. I think I'll just forget about getting that unless someone has any more info on it.
