DCsport header with my setup? Opinions needed
Well.. i searched.. and i read that the dcsport header (top portion) IS bigger than the stock EX/Si (canadian)
My question is... how much bigger? and total measurements
i have no clue how big the stock header is btw
Here's my setup:
I have an INJEN SRI .. Magnaflow catback exhaust...
Was wondering if the DCsports header would do anything besides making more sound .. or should i just leave it stock .. ..
keep in mind i am not planning to get a larger downpipe or remove my stock catalytic converter
Thx !!

they are bigger but not by much, i wasn't able to get my heat shield back on after i put on the DC headers. They also give you a small gain in horsepower 1-5 hp, but they don't make any sound.

putting the head shield back on will void the warranty on them. it's also pointless

Trust me, you can run without the heat shield on a DC sports header. And Trust me again, when I say, save your money for something better. If you arne't getting the HP header and downpipe dont get anything at all. It isn't worth it. Save it for a full coilover setup.

Wrapping it heat wrap or puttin the heat shield back on will VOID the warrenty on the DC sports header. Go ahead and do it but if it breaks you will lost your warrenty. It is really not a big deal that it is exposed.

I HAD your exact same setup with the exception of an injen cai. I had the cai and the exhaust before I got the DC header. I bought the dc header because I got it almost new for $80. I made a nice profit when I sold it..
Anyhow, the tubs are bigger but only slightly. I definately noticed a slight increase in midrange power. Nothing special but a little bit of torque. I felt it hurt the top end slightly.
No, you can not use the heat shield with it and you don't need it.
I would go with the Kamikaze or hp top portion before the DC header. I would go with the HP over the kam because it is a lot cheaper. Hp's header is much bigger than the stock version, A LOT bigger.
Go with the hp race version if you want to mess with a simulator and are ok with not having a cat. Logic and the hp design says it will give the most gains, at least on the ex models.
The DC is just too expensive for what you get.
